Sennheiser e602 II Microphone
The e 602 II is Sennheiser's dynamic microphone for the low end. Its large aluminum voice coil and light diaphragm are tuned to move fast with big, sustained bass energy, so it tracks the attack of a kick drum and the body of a bass cabinet, floor tom, or tuba without choking on level. The cardioid pattern favors the source and rejects the rest of the kit, which keeps a close-mic'd drum out of the overheads.
Because it is a rugged dynamic with a symmetrical, humbucking design, it shrugs off stray magnetic fields from nearby amps and handles high SPL with no phantom power required. It is light enough to hang off a rim or clip inside a kick shell and stays put through a set. The mic ships with a stand mount and a pouch.
