RDL HR-MP2A Microphone Preamplifier
The RDL HR-MP2A is a dual microphone preamplifier built around two independent channels, each with balanced XLR input and its own gain, pad and metering. It lifts a microphone to a clean balanced line level with exceptional input headroom, wide flat frequency response and very low noise, so the feed handed off to a mixer or recorder stays quiet even when a channel is running hot. Identical rear-panel connections and front-panel controls on each side keep a two-mic setup fast to wire and match.
The GAIN control adjusts continuously from 20 to 60 dB, and a switchable 15 dB input pad raises the maximum input level from +5 dBu to greater than +20 dBu. A front-panel switch applies 48 V phantom to both preamplifiers for condenser mics, a POLARITY switch reverses signal polarity when needed, and a CLIP LED flashes when a peak comes within 3 dB of clipping. Each channel outputs on 1/4-inch TRS or a detachable terminal block, and a separate summed 1 + 2 output is provided on a terminal block for combining both mics to a single line.
