RDL PT-ASG1 Portable 700 Hz Audio Signal Generator
The RDL PT-ASG1 is a portable or bench-top audio oscillator for any job that needs a stable, known audio source, from system verification and alignment to routine troubleshooting. Its internal oscillator runs at 700 Hz rather than the more common 1 kHz, so a technician can listen to the tone through a system for long stretches without the ear fatigue a higher pitch causes.
The XLR balanced output is front-panel switchable between MIC and LINE level. The line level is factory set to +4 dBu and can be reprogrammed to +6 dBu, and in the MIC position the output drops to -46 dBu, 50 dB below +4. A specially designed output network delivers the same level into low-impedance (200 ohm) and higher-impedance (over 1 kohm) mic preamps, so the reading stays consistent regardless of what it feeds. The PT-ASG1 runs on an internal 9-volt battery or an external 12 to 30 Vdc supply, and ships with test leads and a bench-top support bracket.
