PreSonus DigiMax DP88 8-Channel Preamp and ADAT Converter
The DigiMax DP88 puts eight of PreSonus's digitally controlled XMAX microphone preamps in a single rack space and hands them to any interface with ADAT inputs, turning a 2-in unit into an 8-in system without touching a single analog knob by hand. Each preamp has its own phantom power switch and input meter, and gain is set remotely from a DAW or controller rather than a row of physical pots.
Eight balanced line-level inputs and eight balanced direct outputs on DB25 sit alongside the eight ADAT channels, so the box works as a standalone preamp bank, a straight A/D converter, or both at once at up to 96 kHz. Word clock in and out on BNC lock it to a larger system, and external clock source selects between ADAT and BNC. MIDI I/O passes control data through the same rack space.
