RDL RU-AFC2 Bi-Directional Consumer/Professional Stereo Format Converter
The RDL RU-AFC2 is a bi-directional stereo audio format converter that bridges consumer and professional audio in both directions at once. It takes the unbalanced stereo output of a consumer device and raises it to professional balanced +4 dBu standards, and at the same time it takes a professional balanced stereo signal and drops it to consumer unbalanced -10 dBV, so a single module ties a piece of consumer gear fully into a pro installation without a second box.
Unbalanced connections are on front-panel RCA jacks, and balanced connections are available on front-panel XLR jacks and rear-panel detachable terminal blocks. The balanced outputs provide left, right and a mono sum, each with its own multi-turn level trimmer and a dual-LED VU meter, and gain adjusts from -25 dB to +9 dB relative to +4 dBu. A rear-panel ground-lift switch ties the XLR output shields to the case when needed, and the wide 10 Hz to 150 kHz response keeps the conversion transparent.
