Panasonic Lumix DMW-DMS1 Digital Shotgun Microphone
The DMW-DMS1 is a four-channel electret condenser microphone array for Lumix bodies that accept a digital audio accessory. It is not a single shotgun capsule: the array records four channels, and two of them can be assigned as a backup at -20dB, so a sudden peak that clips the main pair is still recoverable from the safety track.
Frequency response is 40 Hz to 20 kHz with a 77dB or better signal-to-noise ratio, a 105dB or better dynamic range and a maximum input of 122 dBSPL or more. Gain is switchable at -20dB, 0dB and +20dB with audio level trim from -18dB to +12dB, and wind cut, noise cut and a limiter each offer off, standard and high settings. The unit measures roughly 45.0 x 63.7 x 73.7mm and weighs about 100 grams. A windscreen and pouch are supplied.
