The flowtech 100 moves the leg brakes from the middle of each stage up to the top of the tripod, where your hands already are when you pick it up. Release all three, let the legs drop, lock them, and the tripod is set. That single change is why flowtech won its awards and why an operator working alone gets set faster with it than with a conventionally clamped tripod. The carbon fiber leg profile is shaped for torsional stiffness rather than round tube convenience, and the whole tripod weighs 7.01 lb (3.2 kg).

The 100mm bowl carries 66 lb (30 kg), which suits the Ultimate 1040 and similar heads. A hinge lock mechanism opens the legs out flat for extreme low shots, and in spreaderless mode the range runs from 10.2 in (26 cm) to 60.2 in (153 cm). Collapsed length is 29.9 in (76 cm). This configuration (C1266-0004) is supplied as the tripod with its set of three rubber feet; the C1267-0001 mid-level spreader and C1268-0001 ground spreader are the matching accessories.
