ESE ES738 SMPTE/EBU Reader

The ES-738 is an eight-digit SMPTE/EBU time code reader. It auto-detects and displays SMPTE or EBU code and reads in either direction, forward or reverse, at speeds from 1/20 to 10x play speed, so it tracks a deck through shuttle and jog as well as normal playback.

The reader shows hours, minutes, seconds, and frames and can be set to display user-bit data, and the time format switches between 12 and 24 hour. An error detection and correction feature keeps the display flicker-free when incoming code is marginal, and its error indicator can be disabled from an internal DIP switch.
