DOD BiFET Boost 410
The BiFET Boost 410 revives DOD's 1970s boost circuit and adds a buffer switching scheme that makes it several tools in one box. Volume sets the boost, which goes a long way, and the Tone control is a tilt - it shifts weight between the low and high ends rather than simply cutting treble.
The buffer toggle is what changes the pedal's job. With it off the 410 is true bypass and a straight boost; with it on the buffer stays live even when the effect is bypassed, so it can work as a line driver at the end of a long cable run, as a standalone buffer, or as an always-on tone sweetener with or without the boost engaged. Input and output are 1/4-inch instrument jacks, power is a 9V alkaline battery or a PS0913DC adapter, and the all-metal chassis measures 4.68 x 2.63 x 2.25 inches at 0.62 lb.
