DOD Compressor 280

The Compressor 280 is an optical compressor built on DOD's original 280 circuit with updated components. Optical gain reduction is what keeps the top end intact at moderate settings instead of dulling it, so the pedal evens out the difference between a single note and a full chord without taking the air off the strings.

Two knobs cover it. Compression runs from light sustain up to fully squashed, and Level sets the output, which is how the same pedal works for chicken-picking, sustain under a lead, snappy funk rhythm, or simply as a lead boost with compression behind it. It is true bypass with an LED and footswitch, uses 1/4-inch jacks, runs from a 9V battery or a PS0913DC adapter, and the aluminium chassis measures 4.68 x 2.63 x 2.25 inches at 0.62 lb.
