DOD Chthonic Fuzz
The Chthonic Fuzz is built on a 1970s fuzz circuit and clips directly off a pair of 2N2222 transistors, which is where its fat, sludgy character comes from. DOD voiced it for single-coil pickups and brighter instruments, and it responds to the guitar volume knob rather than staying pinned at one setting, so it works best first in the chain where it sees the pickups directly.
Three controls do the work: Fuzz takes it from restrained to extreme, Output sets the level, and Lustre trims high frequencies after the distortion stage. A footswitch and blue LED handle engagement. Input and output are 1/4-inch instrument jacks, power is a 9V alkaline battery or a PS0913DC adapter, and the all-metal chassis measures 4.68 x 2.63 x 2.25 inches at roughly 1.0 lb.
