DOD Envelope Filter 440

The Envelope Filter 440 is a reissue of DOD's original auto-wah, and it covers the whole vocabulary of the effect - quack and squonk at fast settings, long drawn-out sweeps at slow ones. It tracks pick attack rather than a foot, so the filter opens with how hard you play, which suits funk chord work, a hands-free wah substitute, or slow filter movement under a sustained part.

Level sets how sensitive the envelope is to your attack and Range sets the frequency span the sweep travels across. The one addition over the vintage original is an up/down toggle that flips which half of the sweep gets emphasised. The input presents 1 megohm, so it works with guitar, bass or keyboards. It is true bypass, runs from a 9V alkaline battery or a PS0913DC supply, and the aluminium chassis measures 4.68 x 2.63 x 2.25 inches at 0.62 lb.
