DOD Looking Glass Effect Pedal
The Looking Glass is a Class-A FET overdrive DOD developed with boutique builder SHOE Pedals. Its clipping is asymmetrical, so what comes out changes with pick attack as much as with the knobs: back off and it is a glassy boost, dig in and it moves toward a vintage amp run past its comfortable limit. A High/Low gain switch picks between light compression and tone shaping on one side and a boosted, still touch-sensitive gain on the other.
Five knobs cover Level, Gain, Treble, an Input Filter for taming bright pickups, and a Bass Cut that thins the signal before the distortion stage for clarity. Internal DIP switches retune the input impedance - 260 kilohm with DIP 1 off, 235 kilohm with it on - for boards that put buffered pedals in front. Output impedance is 1 kilohm, current draw 4 mA, and power is a 9VDC battery or a PS0913DC adapter.
