DOD Overdrive Preamp 250
The Overdrive Preamp 250 is the reissue of the 1970s distortion and boost that David Oreste Defrancesco - the D.O.D. in DOD - originally drew up, rebuilt with vintage-correct parts. Two knobs run it: Gain sets how much distortion the circuit makes and Level decides whether it sits underneath a rhythm part as a subtle always-on body, or jumps a solo over a loud stage.
The modern changes are practical rather than tonal - a lightweight aluminium chassis, true bypass, a blue status LED and a standard power jack, under the bullion gold powder coat the model is known for. Input and output are 1/4-inch instrument jacks, power is a 9V alkaline battery or a PS0913DC supply, and it measures 4.68 x 2.63 x 2.25 inches at 0.62 lb.
