Deity PR-2 32-Bit Float Pocket Audio Recorder
The PR-2 records two tracks at 48 kHz in 32-bit float or 24-bit, which removes gain staging as a thing to get wrong when a subject is planted and unmonitored. A true multi-ADC front end gives 123 dB of dynamic range in float mode, with EIN at -130 dBu and THD+N at or below -90 dB. It runs about 30 hours on two AA cells and writes BWF WAV to a microSD card up to 128 GB.
Timecode is the reason it ends up in a bag rather than a pocket recorder from the consumer aisle: it syncs wirelessly from a Deity TC-1, and its locking 3.5 mm headphone output can send LTC back out to jam a camera. Bluetooth 5.0 LE exposes every setting to the Sidus Audio app from up to 250 ft away, and a triple-tap lock stops a subject stopping the take by accident.
