Crestron C2N-IO Control Port Expansion Module
When a control system runs out of ports before it runs out of processing, the C2N-IO is the cheap way back. It hangs off the Cresnet network as a client and brings two isolated relays, one bidirectional RS-232 port, and one IR/serial output to wherever the device that needs them happens to be, rather than requiring a home run to the processor.
The relays are normally open, rated 1 A at 30 VAC or VDC, with solid-state arc suppression across the contacts. RS-232 runs to 115.2k baud with software handshaking; the IR output goes to 1.2 MHz and doubles as a 1-way serial TTL/RS-232 output. Two rotary switches set the Cresnet ID by hand, or a setting of 00 enables touch-settable ID. It works with 2-Series, 3-Series, and 4-Series control systems.
| Cresnet Network | Cresnet client mode; 2-Series, 3-Series, or 4-Series control system compatible |
|---|---|
| Relays | (1) 4-pin captive screw terminal block comprising (2) normally open isolated relays, rated 1 A at 30 VAC/VDC, solid-state arc suppression |
| RS-232 | (1) 3-pin captive screw terminal block, bidirectional, up to 115.2k baud with software handshaking |
| IR / Serial | (1) 2-pin captive screw terminal block; IR output up to 1.2 MHz; 1-way serial TTL/RS-232 (0-5 V) up to 115.2k baud |
| NET | (2) 4-pin captive screw terminal blocks, paralleled, Cresnet client port |
| NET ID | (2) rotary switches for manual Cresnet ID; 00 enables touch-settable ID (TSID) |
| Indicators | PWR (green) Cresnet power; NET (amber) system communication; SETUP (red) with recessed pushbutton |
