Chauvet DJ Scorpion Dual RGB ILS Dual-Aperture RGB Aerial Laser
The Scorpion Dual RGB ILS is an aerial effect laser built for rooms with haze in them. Red, green and blue diodes mix to full colour rather than the red/green pairing most budget lasers stop at, and Chauvet's FAT BEAM optics keep the beams thick enough to read across a room instead of disappearing. Two mirror apertures fire from the one housing, which gives a single unit a symmetrical look as a centrepiece and lets a pair cover a wide stage from the sides.
Thirty-two built-in patterns cover most of what a mobile show needs, including the Laser Sky effect, and the zoom runs 1 to 29 degrees with 30 degrees of pan and tilt for aiming. Under DMX it takes 10 channels over 3-pin XLR; ILS compatibility ties it to a GigBAR rig, the optional IRC-6 handles non-DMX control, and a D-Fi USB dongle makes it wireless. At 20W it links twenty-seven units on a 120V circuit. Chauvet specifies an ambient operating range of 59°F to 95°F.
