The RF28-70mm F2 L USM breaks the usual rule for standard zooms by holding a constant f/2 across its entire range, giving a working shooter the light-gathering and shallow depth of field of a bag of fast primes in one lens. From 28mm through 70mm it covers portraits, weddings, and events at an aperture no other full-frame standard zoom matches, and a 19-element formula keeps that fast glass sharp and clean. A 9-blade diaphragm renders the smooth, gorgeous background blur the wide aperture makes possible.

A ring-type USM drives quick, quiet autofocus, and the lens is dust and water resistant with a fluorine coating on the front element to shed smudges and moisture.
