Canon RF28mm F2.8 STM Lens
The Canon RF28mm F2.8 STM is a compact pancake wide-angle prime built for full-frame EOS R series cameras. At just 28mm and roughly an inch deep, it barely adds bulk to the body, turning a mirrorless camera into a grab-and-go street, travel, and everyday documentary rig. The 28mm angle of view gives a natural, slightly wide perspective that keeps context in the frame without the distortion of a true ultra-wide, and the f/2.8 aperture pulls in enough light for available-light work.
Focus is driven by a Canon gear-type STM stepping motor, which racks quietly and smoothly for video autofocus while staying quick for stills. It focuses down to about 9 inches for a 0.17x close-up, and its optical formula uses three aspherical PMo elements to hold sharpness across the frame. The lens ships with the Lens Cap E-55 and Lens Dust Cap RF, and accepts standard 55mm filters.
