BirdDog BD4KSDI 4K SDI NDI Encoder/Decoder

The BirdDog BD4KSDI is a single-channel 4K NDI encoder/decoder aimed at SDI plants. Its two 12G-SDI connectors are each selectable as an input or an output, so it can encode a 12G-SDI camera feed onto an NDI network or decode NDI back out to SDI, at resolutions up to 4Kp60 plus every common HD format. A separate HDMI 2.0 output mirrors the signal for a local monitor, and a built-in cross converter bridges SDI and HDMI in the same unit.

A custom NDI silicon chip inside an aircraft-grade aluminum housing does the encoding, and a front OLED display reports status. An SFP+ port adds 10 GbE fiber for long cable runs, NDI Tally borders and a Tally output keep operators oriented, and the box powers over PoE.
