Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Closed-Back Monitor Headphones

The ATH-M50x is the pair that made the M Series a studio default: closed-back, 45 mm drivers with copper-clad aluminium voice coils and rare earth magnets, tuned for detail across the range rather than for a bass shelf. It is the reference most engineers already have in their ears, which is exactly why it is a useful second opinion on a mix.

It runs 15 - 28,000 Hz into 38 ohms, so it is loud enough from an interface, a console or a field recorder without a dedicated amp. Earcups rotate 90 degrees for one-ear monitoring, the headband and cups fold for a bag, and the cable is detachable with coiled and straight options supplied. A protective pouch and a 1/4" screw-on adapter are in the box.
