The ATH-R50x sits above the R30x in Audio-Technica's open-back reference line, built around 45mm drivers modeled on the flagship ATH-R70x and re-engineered for bass that is unusually strong for an open-back design without giving up an accurate upper midrange. That balance matters when a mixer needs to trust what they hear on vocals and lead instruments as much as low end.

The fully open earcups let sound come straight off the drivers with no added acoustic tuning, delivering a wide, realistic soundstage suited to mixing, mastering, and working across stereo, surround, and immersive formats. It ships with two detachable cables, a 3.0m and a shorter 1.2m, each with a twist-lock connector at the earcup, plus a 6.3mm adapter and a carrying pouch.
