Ashton Bentley UX BYOM Smart Switch

The UX is a USB switch built for the bring-your-own-meeting problem: a room that has a resident PC or NUC driving its native platform, and a visitor who wants to run the meeting off their own laptop with the same camera, bar and microphone. Two USB-B host ports take the room PC and the laptop; three USB-A device ports feed the peripherals. It is designed to sit alongside the Ashton Bentley DX2 Room Hub and TX2 Table Hub, and in that configuration it draws its power over the ABNET link from the DX2, so there is no extra supply to hide.

It runs in two modes. Under DX2 control the room system switches the peripherals across. Standalone, the UX detects a laptop USB connection on its own and moves the devices to it, then hands them back when the laptop is unplugged; that mode needs the separate 24 V supply (900-00585). Either way the three device ports use dynamic 5 V switching, so when the host changes the USB power drops for a moment and a video bar that would otherwise stay stuck in device mode reinitialises against the new host. Front-panel LEDs show which host is selected, which are connected, and which device ports are live.
