AKG PT470 Bodypack Wireless Transmitter

The PT470 is the bodypack transmitter for AKG's WMS470 system, in a compact black plastic housing with a BC400 belt clip. Its professional three-pin mini XLR input takes AKG lavaliers, headworn microphones and instrument cables, and pilot tone transmission continuously feeds transmitter data, including low-battery state, back to the receiver so the operator sees a problem developing rather than hearing it.

Battery management is the practical headline: a single AA lithium cell runs it 14 hours, a NiMH rechargeable runs 8 and can be charged inside the transmitter through its contacts using the CU400 charging unit. An infrared link takes the frequency from the receiver instead of being keyed in, and a 1/4 inch jack accepts the optional RMS4000 external mute switch for remote muting from a lectern or a rack.
