Allen & Heath ZED-14
The ZED-14 is a touring-grade analog mixer that pairs six mono channels and four stereo channels with a built-in USB recording interface. The mono channels run Allen & Heath's DuoPre microphone preamps, a two-stage design with a 69 dB gain range that spreads gain evenly and keeps noise low, so both quiet condensers and loud dynamics sit cleanly in the mix. MusEQ 3-band equalization with a sweepable midrange sits on every mono channel, with 2-band EQ on the stereo channels.
A 2-in/2-out USB interface records the stereo mix to a computer and returns playback, no separate interface required. Four aux sends build monitor and effects feeds, XLR main outputs carry insert points for outboard gear, and durable 100mm faders give precise, repeatable level control. 48V phantom power switches in for condenser mics, and the rugged metal chassis is built to survive the road.
