Whirlwind podMIX Passive Mic and Music Mixer

The podMIX is a passive mixer for the paging job: a microphone and a music source arriving at the console on a single channel. The stereo line input arrives on a 1/8 inch stereo jack or dual RCA phono jacks wired in parallel so one can loop through to the other, and everything is reduced to mic level and summed to a balanced mono output.

A variable attenuator on the line input sets the balance between the music and the announcer, and mute switches on both the mic and line inputs give straightforward on and off control. It works with dynamic and condenser microphones and passes phantom power from the output through to the mic input. It also works as a plain DI when that is all you need.
