Whirlwind MIP1 Media Input Wall Plate
The MIP1 takes the outputs a room actually presents - stereo RCA, a 3.5 mm TRS jack, or the low-wattage speaker output of a projector - and hands the rack a balanced low-Z mic-level signal. A 16 ohm 5 Watt load resistor is fitted so an amplifier output has something to work into.
Conversion is by a Whirlwind DImax transformer, and the output appears on rear screw terminals plus a female XLR wired to the same terminals. A ground lift breaks the ground connection between the line input and the output, which is the first thing to reach for when a laptop on a lectern starts humming. Available with a black or a brushed stainless steel plate.
