Whirlwind MIPAI Active Media Input Plate Active Dual Input Media Wall Plate
The MIPAI is an active dual-input mixer plate. It combines a line source and a microphone into a single balanced line-level output strong enough to drive a long run back to the rack, and strong enough to drive a modern power amplifier to full output at the far end. Gymnasiums, banquet halls and conference centres are the rooms it was built for, where local volume control at the plate is the whole point.
Each input has its own level control, there are LED level indicators, a bass cut switch on the mic input for rumble, and a 3.5 mm aux jack that sums stereo to mono automatically. Up to three plates daisy-chain from one 24 VDC supply in the rack. Connections are screw terminals, wired with two runs of Belden 8451 type wire or a single Cat5. Allow 2.5 in of backbox depth for a gangable box, 2.125 in for a utility box.
