WEM CUSTOM WEM STARFINDER 1967 112F

The Custom Starfinder 1967 112F is WEM's 1x12, cut to the dimensions and built from the materials the original Starfinder cabinets used, in 18 mm birch ply. The box is doing audible work here rather than just holding a driver: the ply thickness and internal volume decide how the cabinet resonates under load, and the speaker is mounted low in the baffle, which is where the extra low-end response comes from. It is built to take the sound pressure levels a high-wattage British head produces without the panels moving.

It ships loaded with the Custom Hiwatt Fane F75, a 75 watt 12 inch driver specified for these cabinets, and because every cab is made to order you can have the Fane Purpleback (150 W) or the Park Celestion Greenback 25-12 fitted instead. Each one is handwired and tested in the WEM Custom Shop in England, and carries the traditional WEM badge along with a hand-punched, hand-numbered serial plate.
