WEM Silver Starfinder 212V

The Silver Starfinder 212V is the vertical 2x12 in WEM's standard Starfinder line, built in birch ply and finished in the silver livery the range takes its name from. Stacking the two drivers vertically rather than side by side keeps the cabinet narrow and puts the upper speaker closer to head height, so you hear the top end on stage instead of aiming it at the back of your legs.

Both drivers are F150s, 150 watts each at 12 inches, chosen to stay clean at the volumes a British valve head runs at. The cabinet is wired at 8 ohms, which is the setting most two-cabinet and switchable-impedance heads are happiest into, and the birch ply construction is what keeps the box stable and the voicing consistent over a touring life.
