URC SP-8EX 8-inch Two-Way In-Ceiling Speakers (Pair)

The SP-8EX is the largest in-ceiling speaker in URC's architectural range, using an 8 inch woven fiber cone woofer to reach lower and play louder than the 6.5 inch models. It is the pair to reach for in a great room, a high-ceilinged commercial space, or anywhere the speaker spacing has to be wide. The 1 inch aluminum dome tweeter swivels toward the listeners, and both drivers have a three-position EQ adjustment at minus 3, 0, and plus 3 dB.

Mounting uses the same patented lever clamp system as the rest of the line, so the speaker installs and comes back out without tools. The grille is frameless magnetic micromesh aluminum. Power handling is 5 to 135 watts at 8 ohms nominal, sensitivity is 92 dB, and response runs 42 Hz to 20 kHz. The frame is 10.82 inches in diameter and 4.69 inches deep, needs a 9.57 inch cutout, and fits ceilings 0.5 to 1.0 inch thick. Each speaker weighs 5.4 lbs, and a cutout template is included.
