URC SEN-AUD Audio Sensor
The SEN-AUD watches an analog RCA audio connection and tells the Total Control system whether a signal is present. The classic use is a home theater rack: plug the sensor into a preamplifier's output, and when that preamp comes to life the system knows to power the amplifiers behind it. Because the trigger is the audio itself rather than an assumed device state, the system stays in sync with gear that has no discrete on and off commands.
The sensor terminates in a single 3.5mm plug that goes into a programmable sensor port on a compatible Total Control base station, and status indicator LEDs on the body show what it is seeing during setup. Sensitivity is adjustable, and the run can be extended up to 120 feet with two-conductor cable, which is not included. The body measures 3 by 6 by 1 inches and weighs 3 ounces. A URC Total Control advanced network system controller is required, and installation and programming must be done by a certified URC dealer.
