URC HDA-I/O Input / Output Stream Adapter
The HDA-I/O is the utility box of URC's HDA distributed audio system. Configured in software by the installing dealer, it works in one of two directions: take a local source such as a TV or a turntable preamp and stream it across the HDA network, or act as a receiver that feeds HDA audio out to an external amplifier or AV receiver. Either way it moves audio at 96 kHz and 24 bits, and it is small enough to sit behind a display rather than in the rack.
Connections are symmetrical. On the input side there is one RCA analog pair, one TOSLink optical digital input, and one coaxial digital input; on the output side one RCA analog pair, one TOSLink optical output, and one coaxial digital output. Dolby and DTS 5.1 sources arriving on the digital inputs are downmixed. Ducking is supported for paging, and up to ten WAV files can be stored in the chassis for chimes and alerts. It connects over gigabit Ethernet and runs on 12 volts DC. Programming with Total Control Accelerator 3 by an authorized dealer is required, and an HDA-SW5 AVB switch is needed once more than one HDA product is installed.
