Sony BRAVIA Projector 9 (VPL-XW8100ES) 4K HDR Laser Projector
BRAVIA Projector 9 is the brightest of Sony's home theater SXRD line, the VPL-XW8100ES, with a laser source rated at up to 3,400 lumens behind the native 4K SXRD panel and Wide Dynamic Range Optics. That headroom is what keeps HDR highlights intact on large screens and in rooms that are not fully dark. XR Dynamic Tone Mapping, XR Deep Black and XR Clear Image process each frame and object for gradation, black level and detail.
The lens is a powered 2.14x zoom with powered focus and shift of plus or minus 85 percent vertical and 36 percent horizontal, throwing at 1.35 - 2.84:1. Two HDMI inputs, LAN, RS-232C, IR and trigger connections handle control. Acoustic noise is 26 dB, power draw 420 W, and the projector weighs about 14 kg.
