BRAVIA Projector 8, the VPL-XW6100ES, steps up to a laser source rated at up to 2,700 lumens behind Sony's newly developed native 4K SXRD panel and Wide Dynamic Range Optics. Its XR processing analyses each frame: XR Dynamic Tone Mapping tracks peak brightness scene by scene, XR Deep Black drives laser dimming in dark scenes, and XR Clear Image applies super-resolution and noise reduction object by object.
Installation is fully motorised, with a 2.14x powered zoom and focus, powered lens shift of plus or minus 85 percent vertical and 36 percent horizontal, and a 1.35 - 2.84:1 throw ratio. Two HDMI inputs, LAN, RS-232C, IR in and a trigger are on the back panel. It runs at 26 dB, draws 380 W and weighs about 14 kg. Black or white finish.
