Sony VF-MPAM Multi-Coated Protective Filter (40.5 mm - 82 mm)

Sony's MC protector filters are the clear glass you leave on the front of a lens so that dust, fingerprints and scratches land on a replaceable filter rather than the front element. The optical glass carries the ZEISS T* multi-coating, which minimises reflections between filter and lens to keep flare and ghosting out of the image, and the design is Carl Zeiss's.

The mount is a slim, low-profile aluminium ring, about 6 mm thick, so it does not vignette on wide-angle lenses. Choose the thread to match your lens: 40.5 mm (for the SELP1650 power zoom), 49, 55, 62, 67, 72, 77 or 82 mm. The 40.5 mm filter weighs 10 g; the 82 mm, 33 g.
