Sony RMT-VP2 Bluetooth Wireless Remote Commander
The RMT-VP2 is a wireless remote for Sony cameras that talks over Bluetooth rather than infrared, so it keeps working around obstacles and in sunlight. It is made for the moments when the camera has to stay still: tripod work, long exposures and night scenes, or a camera placed somewhere you cannot reach. Range is about 10 m (33 ft), and select Xperia smartphones can be controlled as well.
The front panel carries a shutter button, MOVIE record, AF-ON and a C1 button that triggers whatever function you have assigned on the camera, plus a rocker for zoom or focus with a lock switch. An LED shows remote operation and camera status. The body is dust and moisture resistant, and because no cable or receiver is needed the camera's terminal cover stays closed. Power comes from a CR2032 coin cell, supplied.
