Sontronics CORONA Live Vocal Dynamic Microphone
CORONA is Sontronics' stage vocal microphone and it does not look like one, because it is side-address rather than a handheld barrel. On a stand that is an advantage: the singer works to a flat face at a fixed distance instead of drifting around the end of a capsule, and the mic reads clearly on camera. The supercardioid pattern buys gain before feedback in front of monitors.
Response is 50 Hz to 15 kHz, tuned for voice, and maximum SPL is above 140 dB so a loud chorus at close range stays clean. Sensitivity is 5.5 mV/Pa into an impedance under 600 Ohms, on a 3-pin XLR with no phantom power required. At 797 g it needs a stand with a decent counterweight; it measures 162 x 113 x 62 mm and ships in an ABS flight case.
