Sontronics DM-1T Tom Condenser Microphone
The DM-1T is the tom mic in Sontronics' drum range, a 91 mm cardioid condenser meant to be clipped to a hoop and forgotten about. Condensers on toms are worth the trouble because they keep the stick attack and the shell's decay in the same picture, where a dynamic tends to hand you the thud and lose the ring.
It covers 30 Hz to 20 kHz at 16 mV/Pa with 14 dBA of self-noise, and the -10 dB pad takes it to 135 dB for a hard-hit floor tom. Impedance is under 200 Ohms into a 3-pin XLR on 48 V phantom. It weighs 100 g, so a rim clip carries it easily. Supplied with its mic clip. Three DM-1Ts are in each Sontronics DRUMPACK.
