Shure Beta 98A Kick Drum / Instrument Microphone

The Beta 98AD/C is a miniature cardioid condenser built to mic drums and percussion in tight, high-SPL settings. The small capsule mounts on a flexible gooseneck and the included A98D clamp locks it to a rim, so it tucks in close to a snare, tom, or conga without getting in the drummer's way. The uniform cardioid pattern delivers strong gain before feedback and rejects the rest of the kit, and the wide dynamic range keeps it clean even when the source is loud.

The capsule feeds the included RPM626 in-line preamplifier, which conditions the signal and delivers it to the mixer over a standard XLR feed on phantom power. The response is tuned for percussion, with the detail and attack drums need to sit in a live mix. It ships as a complete kit: the A98D drum mount, an RPM626 in-line preamp, a 15 ft heavy-duty C98D cable, a snap-fit windscreen, and a zippered carrying bag.
