Sennheiser MKE2-4-C Gold Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone
The MKE 2 is Sennheiser's subminiature omnidirectional clip-on condenser, the lavalier that has miked stage plays, newscasts, and worship services for decades. Its pre-polarized capsule is barely wider than a pencil lead, so it tucks into a hairline or hides behind a lapel, and the omnidirectional pattern holds a voice steady even as the talker turns off-axis. The capsule is built to resist the perspiration and stage makeup that silence lesser lavaliers.
This MKE2-4-C Gold is the reduced-sensitivity version, rated 6.3 mV/Pa so it stays clean at high stage levels. It plugs in through a 3-pin LEMO connector wired for Sennheiser SK 50, SK 250, and SK 3063 bodypacks, and the black capsule stays discreet against dark wardrobe. In the box are the MKE 2-4 Gold-C microphone with two response caps, the short MZC 2-1 and the long MZC 2-2, for tailoring the top end to the application.
