Sennheiser E908B
The e 908 B is Sennheiser's clip-on condenser instrument microphone voiced for wind and brass, from saxophone and trumpet to clarinet. A long, flexible gooseneck and a shock-mounted head let a player clip it to the bell and aim the capsule exactly where the sound projects, then move freely without dragging a stand around the stage. The integrated shock absorber suppresses structure-borne handling noise, and the pre-polarized condenser element delivers the clear attack and open, high-definition character that lets a horn sit up in a live mix.
A cardioid pattern favors the instrument and rejects spill from the rest of the stage, which helps control feedback at volume. The capsule terminates in Sennheiser's intelligent MZA 900 P in-line preamp, which handles the cable run, phantom power, and a level check before a balanced XLR-3 output, and the mic runs on standard 12-48 V phantom. It ships with its mounting clamp, a windshield, and a pouch.
