Sennheiser SKM AVX Digital Handheld Transmitter
The SKM AVX is the interview stick for a crew that does not have an RF technician. It pairs with an EKP AVX receiver, chooses its own 1.9 GHz channel and sets its own level against the camera, then repeats that automatically if a cordless phone or another crew turns up on the same block.
Two ways to buy it. The bare body takes any Sennheiser MMD or MME capsule you already own, which suits a kit that standardises on one sound. The 835S version arrives with the MMD 835 dynamic cardioid fitted and an on/off switch on the body, which is the safer choice for handing to an interviewee. Both run 24 bit at 48 kHz across 20 Hz to 20 kHz with 19 ms of latency and about 15 hours from the 2.2 Ah Li-Ion pack.
