Sachtler System FSB 18T Mk II Ped C III

The 1487M is Sachtler's FSB 18T Mk II Ped C III package, built around the FSB 18T Mk II fluid head. It carries 0 kg to 18 kg (0 lb to 39.68 lb) at a 100 mm centre of gravity on a 100 mm bowl. Balance and damping are stepped rather than continuous: 15 + 0 counterbalance steps and 7 + 0 drag settings on each axis, so a rig can be matched exactly and then repeated on the next shoot. Tilt runs +90° to -70° with 70 mm (2.76 in) of travel to find the balance point.

Set up it works between 91 cm to 175 cm (35.83 in to 68.9 in). The complete system weighs 19.9 kg (43.87 lb). Levelling is by an illuminated PrismBubble. Sachtler rates the head from -40°C to 60°C (-40 °F to 140 °F), so the fluid does not thicken in the cold.
