Sachtler Pedestal C III

The Pedestal C III is the studio-weight member of the Sachtler C family: 55 kg of payload on a pneumatic column with a 42 cm on-shot stroke, rolling on the Dolly XL with castor wheels and track locks. It works from 71.5 cm up to 157 cm, so an operator can drop to a seated eyeline and rise to a standing two-shot without breaking the move, and the column is quiet enough that the boom will not hear it. At 16.5 kg total it is still a pedestal two people can strike and load.

The flat base mount and one manually adjusted tripod stage give it the reach; the payload rating is what puts a fully rigged studio camera, a large box lens, and a teleprompter on top of it. DV 10, DV 12, and Video 15 heads mount directly. Video 18/20 S1/SB/Plus needs adapter 3913, and Video 25 Plus plus the Video 60/75 Plus mount with adapter 3914. Track locks let you run a repeatable straight move across a marked floor. Supplied as the Pedestal column C III, the Dolly XL, and a manual pump.
