Roland VC-100UHD 4K Video Scaler

The VC-100UHD is a half-rack 4K signal-management box that scales, converts, and streams video to several destinations at the same time. Built around Roland's Ultra Scaler, it takes an ultra-high-definition source on 12G-SDI or HDMI 2.0 and automatically converts it to whatever resolution each output needs, feeding 12G-SDI, HDMI, and a USB 3.0 webcam output simultaneously. It handles native DCI 4K, UHD, and 1080p, and accepts high-frame-rate 1080p up to 240 fps over HDMI.

The signal path carries 10-bit 4:4:4 video conforming to the REC. 601, 709, and 2020 color gamuts, so it fits into a broadcast or fixed-install workflow without compromising color. The USB 3.0 output presents the feed as a standard plug-and-play webcam for streaming, and Roland's free VR Capture software records the program in ProRes 422 on Mac or MP4 on Windows. Audio is de-embedded and re-embedded through a 25-pin balanced connector or RCA line pairs, routing up to 16 input channels and 8 output channels with per-input delay.
