Roland UVC-01 USB Video Capture
The UVC-01 is a pocket-sized HDMI-to-USB encoder that lets a camera, switcher, or camcorder appear on a computer as a plug-and-play webcam. It carries uncompressed 1080p at 60 frames per second over USB 3.0, so recordings and livestreams stay sharp and fluid rather than soft and stuttering the way built-in webcams tend to be. It pairs cleanly with any Roland V-series switcher that has an HDMI output, and works just as well with most HDMI cameras and camcorders.
Because it is a standard USB video class device, there are no drivers to install on Mac or Windows, and it draws its power from the computer over the same USB cable. Stereo audio rides embedded in the HDMI feed, and a dedicated analog line input lets you fold in a second sound source such as a music feed. The USB output uses the YUY2 uncompressed format for the lowest-latency handoff to streaming software.
