Neumann KK 205 Supercardioid Capsule Head for Sennheiser Wireless
The KK 205 is the supercardioid head in Neumann's pair for Sennheiser's current handheld transmitters, fitting SKM 2000, SKM 6000, and SKM 9000 bodies plus evolution wireless G4 300 and 500 series and EW-D. It is the one most touring vocal channels end up on: the tighter pattern rejects more of the wedge and the sidefill than the cardioid KK 204, which is what buys usable gain on a loud stage. The capsule is a true condenser, so the channel keeps the detail a dynamic head trims away.
The head is sold on its own and threads onto a transmitter you already own, which is how a production standardizes capsule voicing across a mixed fleet of Sennheiser bodies. Response starts at 40 Hz, sensitivity is 2.8 mV/Pa into a 1 kohm load, and it takes 150 dB SPL at 0.5 percent distortion. On an SKM 2000 the finished microphone is 272 mm long and weighs about 500 g with transmitter and power supply. Nickel and black are the same capsule.
