Neumann KK 104 U Universal Cardioid Capsule Head
The KK 104 U is Neumann's cardioid condenser head for handheld transmitters that are not Sennheiser. It fits Shure Axient Digital, ULX-D, QLX-D, and SLX-D bodies, every Sony model, Mipro ACT series, and Lectrosonics transmitters, so a house or touring rig already standardized on one of those systems can put a Neumann capsule on its vocal channels without replacing the RF.
It is a different electrical design from the SKM-thread KK 104 S rather than the same part with another thread. Response runs from 40 Hz, sensitivity is 4.8 mV/Pa into a 50 kohm load, and the noise floor sits at 74 dB A-weighted, which is quiet enough that a soft passage does not surface hiss on a well-gained channel. The head takes 150 dB SPL before 0.5 percent distortion and weighs 177 g on its own. Nickel and black finishes are the same capsule.
