MuxLab 500081 Digital Audio Converter, Dolby Digital

The 500081 accepts a Dolby Digital stream on either a coaxial S/PDIF or optical TOSlink input, decodes it, and downmixes it to two-channel analog stereo. It is the right part when the source outputs a compressed bitstream that a plain converter would pass through as noise.

Sample rate runs to 96kHz and the unit handles 24-bit S/PDIF compressed and uncompressed bit streams. Output is a pair of color-coded RCA connectors, and a front switch selects which digital input is active. An optical cable is included.
